i would go all the way! line the walls with thin trees. cut them in half, lay down flat, cut them heightwise according to where they are on the wall. screw them flat side to the wall. they can go flush to the ceiling, and then you can paint them the rest until they leave only a circle clearing at top, where you paint a blue sky (OR put in a skylight!). then you’d really feel like you were in the woods! change the lighting, too. make it look like lamps hung on trees. tear out the baseboard.
if i ever saw fit to plant myself in a house, i’d want it to be magical. every single room in some way. i’d never stop working on it. i need to post pics some time of how i painted my apartments….murals of sky and sun and night meeting to divide the room and such…

 Damn, I love that idea. I’ve seen that wallpaper in a couple of photos recently and I love it - I love nezua’s actual wood idea even more though. I’m tempted to try this in our half-bath on the master bedroom. My house needs more magic. Hell, we’ve been in it more than a year and I just got around to digging out most of our artwork last month.
